Dr. Sharon Cook has been dancing since the age of four. Extensive training began at Fort Hayes Vocational School in Columbus, Ohio. There, she studied ballet, modern and African dance along with anatomy and nutrition. She has choreographed dances for fashion, talent shows, praise teams and conferences.
She was lead instructor at Spa Petite International teaching aerobics and dance classes. She also taught ballet and modern dance in the after school program for MPLS Public Schools.Dr. Sharon auditioned and was accepted at the University of Minnesota and majored in dance. Today, she is founder and artistic director of“Les Jolies Petites" School of Dance”
They have been featured in the Insight, St. Paul Pioneer Press and Star Tribune Newspapers, and interviewed on KARE 11 News with Roxane Battle.
They've traveled to Atlanta,
GA and Orlando, FL where they've danced at the Ernestine C. Reems Women’s Conference where over 5,000 were in attendance.
With such a large interest and great response, Dr. Sharon opened "Les Jolies Petites School of Dance" in hopes that people from all walks of life would be blessed by what they see, feel, and hear. Since the inception of “Les Jolies Petites
Dr. Sharon has choreographed more than 300 dance pieces for over 1200 students. The summer of 2006, she sent two of her assistant instructors to the world renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York City.
They were taught modern and ballet by top professional instructors as well as Alvin Ailey Company Dancers, which is now being taught to “Les Jolies Petites” students.
